Real Fan Life: Brandi Chastain

This week on the #RealFanLife podcast, I spoke with one of the people who helped get me through my injury-filled summer of ’99, former USWNT star Brandi Chastain.

Chastain is more focused on being a mom and a coach these days, but we revisited her playing career, covering everything from the devastation of an own goal in the quarterfinals of the ’99 World Cup, to the infamous moment of celebration after the final. (You know what I’m talking about.)

Chastain also talked FIFA politics, athlete diets and her initiative for young female athletes called BAWSI — more affectionately nicknamed “Bossy Girls.”
