Shooting the world’s most popular sport is a challenge. It is important to capture the spirit of the competition, while still telling the match’s story. An athlete’s success often starts years before, with countless hours of training — all to prepare to be in optimal form come game day. As a photographer, I love to tell that story: how an athlete got to the top of their game. In this set of pictures, the team trains in West Palm Beach, FL before the 2011 World Cup.
